Course / Workshop Content
This interactive 2-part course is for anyone who would like to explore the healing power of nature. You may have already completed the full "Exploring the Healing Power of Nature" course and wish to continue nurturing your connection to nature. Or, you may want to dip your toe in and try this shorter course with a guided nature walk and a creative craft session. Either way, you will strengthen your relationship with nature as a source of ongoing wellbeing and balance. What will I learn? Workshop 1 In this session, you will be able to deepen your connection to the natural world through mindfulness practices. We will walk together from Stepping Stones to the Elms (exact details will be shared prior to the session), immersing ourselves in the sights, sounds, and textures of nature. Along the way, we will have a taste of mindfulness and the opportunity to collect natural treasures, reflect on the intricate details of your surroundings, and further explore the calming, rejuvenating effects of time spent outdoors. This walk offers a chance to strengthen your connection to nature as a source of ongoing wellbeing. This session will last approximately two and a half hours (finish at 1pm) which gives time to meet back at the college after the walk for refreshments and to catch up on our treasures found. Workshop 2 Practicing this mindful awareness outdoors can also inspire creativity, providing fresh perspectives and ideas for art and craft projects. You will have the opportunity to practice your creativity in a relaxing and mindful, nature-inspired art and craft session. How can I use what I will learn? You can use the mindfulness practices learned to build a deeper, more intentional connection to nature in your daily life. By tuning into the sights, sounds, and textures around you, you will be able to cultivate a sense of presence and appreciation for the natural world, which can enhance your sense of calm and reduce stress. This experience encourages you to see nature as a continuous source of wellbeing and inspiration.
