Coping with the Festive Season
Single Workshop Monday 20th November 2-4pm
- Stepping Stones Recovery College
Course / Workshop Content
Who is this for? Wonderful as the festivities are, for many of us they can also be hugely challenging - for a whole variety of reasons. We often think of either suffering through this time or cancelling plans. What would make this better, more bearable, and even, enjoyable? If you relate to any of this, this workshop might help you. What will I learn? We will consider the reasons behind the challenges we experience at this time of year. This can include family dynamics, or maybe it is the first year since someone special passed away, perhaps you have some anxiety around food or alcohol - and these are just a few of the many reasons that can cause us stress. We will have some guided discussions about what could help and look at some practical strategies to try out for ourselves. We hope your mindset will become more optimistic and take away some really, usable, practical strategies to cope. We will do all this from a position of self-compassion. How can I use what I learn? With a variety of festivities approaching, this is a good opportunity to take some time out to consider how to help keep yourself safe, well and happy during this period. This will, we hope, enable you to take more control over the situations that arise, build your confidence, and generally prepare you for any challenges.
If you cannot attend a workshop, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your place to someone else. Thank you.
