5-part course. Starting Tuesday 9th January. 3:30-5pm Hilary Weaver
- Stepping Stones Recovery College
Course / Workshop Content
WHO IS THIS FOR? There are many different types of creative craft for anyone who enjoys making things. On this course you will be able to turn your creative hand to card making, enjoy a taster crochet session or just bring along a craft project of your own to work on - if it’s easy to carry! You can even try all three if you wish. No previous experience of crafting is necessary, and all materials for card making and crochet will be provided. If you already have a crafting hobby such as scrapbooking, knitting or embroidery, then please do bring it along to work on and show us. WHAT WILL I LEARN? Crafting hobbies like cross-stitch, diamond dot painting and deco patch (to name just a few) are a great way to relax, take a break and distract ourselves from problems. Crafting can also be very mindful as we focus on the little details of the crafting tools at our fingertips, the movements of our hands and the rhythm of our work. You can enjoy your crafting amongst a supportive group and learn more about mindful crafting. Card making is an example of these crafts and with the materials provided on this course you can create some of your own cards to take home for birthdays or other special occasions. If you wish, you can also have a go at some very simple crochet during the course. You will be able to try out the basic techniques using chunky yarn, and get an idea of whether you might enjoy doing more crochet on a course or using magazines/books. HOW CAN I USE WHAT I LEARN? Whether you are starting a new craft, continuing with an existing hobby, or learning about another group member’s craft, we hope that this class will encourage you to continue being creative and to explore different ways of doing this.
If you cannot attend a workshop, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your place to someone else. Thank you.
