Course / Workshop Content

Who is this for? Imagine waking up each day feeling refreshed, with improved health, sharper cognitive functioning and a greater sense of overall wellbeing. This interactive 2-part course is ideal for anyone looking to discover better ways to get a good night’s sleep and feel the benefits of this in your daily life. What will I learn? Workshop 1: We will look at the fascinating science behind sleep, gaining insights into the mechanisms of sleep cycles, uncovering the intricate mechanisms that govern our nightly rest, the role of neurotransmitters and hormones. We will explore the stages of sleep cycles, from light and deep sleep and REM, and how each of these stages play a critical role in our physical and mental rejuvenation. We will also explore some of the common obstacles to a good night’s sleep such as stress, screen time and lifestyle habits and discuss how these factors can interfere with our natural sleep processes and contribute to sleep disorders. Workshop 2: We will shift from theory to practice, learning how to apply this knowledge to optimise your sleep habits. You will start to formulate practical strategies to enhance your sleep environment, establish a more effective sleep routine and make lifestyle adjustments that promote deeper more restorative sleep. We will also explore the impact of nutrition, exercise and mindfulness techniques on improving sleep quality. How can I use what I will learn? Armed with a deeper understanding of the science behind sleep, you will be equipped to make targeted changes that can dramatically enhance the quality of your own sleep. By the end of the course, not only will you understand the science behind sleep, but you will have your own personal action plan to enhance your sleep patterns, leading to improved health, heightened cognitive functioning and better overall wellbeing.
