Finding Stability in Uncertainty Who is this for? This course is for anyone who has received a serious health diagnosis—such as cancer, heart disease, or other life-altering conditions—and is seeking emotional support and understanding. It is especially helpful for those who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in cycles of fear, uncertainty, or low mood. Whether you're at the beginning of your treatment journey, in the midst of it, or adjusting to life after treatment, this space offers connection, compassion, and practical tools for navigating the emotional challenges that come with a diagnosis. What will I learn? Receiving a serious diagnosis can turn life upside down. This two-part workshop offers a safe, supportive space to explore the emotional impact of diagnosis, including shock, grief, anxiety, and uncertainty. Together, we’ll make sense of the mental and emotional impact of our mental health and discover gentle, evidence-based strategies to support our wellbeing. Part 1 - focuses on exploring the emotional reaction that receiving a serious diagnosis brings, acknowledging the complexity nature of these feelings. We will discuss common trauma responses and learn ways to reframe distressing thoughts to avoid rumination and have healthier mental habits. Part 2- will focus on building resilience and acceptance of the life changing event and move towards identifying what matters most despite the diagnosis in everyday life. We will work on creating a personalized support toolkit with strategies and identify small, manageable steps for self-care and emotional wellbeing. How can I use what I learn? The strategies and insights shared in this workshop can be used in day-to-day life to better manage difficult emotions, calm anxious thoughts, and reduce overwhelm. You’ll learn how to respond kindlier to yourself, reframe unhelpful thinking patterns, and reconnect with what matters most to you—helping you feel more grounded and resilient as you move through your healing journey. These tools are designed to be practical, gentle, and easy to return to whenever you need support.
