Course / Workshop Content

Who is this for? This course is for men who want to understand their own mental health more deeply, and for anyone supporting a man — a friend, partner, colleague, or family member — who may be finding things difficult. It’s open, supportive, and inclusive, with space for honest conversation and reflection in a relaxed environment. What will I learn? Session 1 – Understanding Men’s Mental Health We’ll explore the unique pressures men face and why it can be hard to talk about emotions or seek help. Together, we’ll look at: Social and cultural expectations around masculinity How stress, isolation, and silence impact wellbeing Common signs that someone may be struggling The importance of connection, vulnerability, and healthy coping Session 2 – Reaching Out and Finding Support In this practical session, we’ll focus on what helps — for ourselves and for others. We’ll explore: How to start supportive conversations and listen effectively Where to find help and local/national resources Everyday habits that strengthen mental wellbeing Building confidence to reach out or respond when someone opens up Each session combines gentle discussion, real-world examples, and evidence-based insights — creating a safe space for reflection and shared understanding. How can I use what I learn? You can use what you learn to take better care of your own mental wellbeing, support friends, family, or colleagues who may be struggling, and help create a culture where it’s easier for men to talk openly about how they feel.
