Course of 6 sessions 10:30am - 12:30pm Starts Tuesday 15th September Debbie Workman

Stepping Stones Recovery College

Course / Workshop Content

Who is this course for? Life can often feel busy, stressful, and overwhelming. This supportive six-part course is for anyone who would like to slow down, feel more present, and develop practical ways to improve their wellbeing. Whether you're new to mindfulness or looking to refresh your practice, you'll learn simple techniques that can help you navigate life with greater calm, awareness, and self-compassion. What will I learn? Workshop 1: Waking Up from Autopilot Discover what mindfulness is and how it can help us become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, habits, and daily experiences. We'll explore how often we live on autopilot and begin practising ways to reconnect with the present moment. Workshop 2: Bringing Awareness to the Body Learn how mindfulness can help us reconnect with our bodies and become more aware of physical sensations. We'll explore how paying attention to the body can help us recognise stress, tension, and early signs that we may need to slow down and take care of ourselves. Workshop 3: Understanding Thoughts and Feelings Explore the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We'll notice common thinking patterns and learn how mindfulness can help us step back from unhelpful thoughts rather than becoming caught up in them. Workshop 4: Responding Rather Than Reacting When life feels challenging, it's easy to react automatically. This session explores how mindfulness can help us pause, create space, and respond to situations with greater awareness, choice, and balance. Workshop 5: Developing Self-Compassion and Resilience Learn how mindfulness can support us through difficult times by developing a kinder relationship with ourselves. We'll explore ways to build resilience, manage setbacks, and approach life's challenges with greater compassion and understanding. Workshop 6: Bringing Mindfulness into Everyday Life In our final session, we'll reflect on what we've learned and explore simple ways to make mindfulness part of everyday life. Together, we'll create a personalised plan for continuing your mindfulness journey beyond the course. How can I use what I learn? Throughout the course, you'll learn practical mindfulness techniques that can help you manage stress, improve self-awareness, navigate difficult emotions, and feel more present in everyday life. You'll leave with a range of tools and practices that can support your wellbeing long after the course has ended.
