Who is this for? This 2-part course workshop is designed for those who are neurodivergent or neurotypical and wish to know more about the neurodiversity movement, the different types of neurotypes and how to navigate executive function challenges. We look at the characteristics, of many conditions, their challenges and the strengths that can accompany them. What will I learn? Part 1 - covers the neurodiversity umbrella, neurodivergent conditions, the overlap among the different conditions, the executive functions challenges, strengths and co-occurring mental health conditions. Part 2 - focuses on strategies such as energy budgeting, avoiding masking, how self-advocate or how create neuro friendly environments. You will learn how to consider and celebrate the differences in thinking, processing information and behaviours that accompany neurodiversity. This understanding will help you support yourself and others who are neurodivergent. You will learn how to use neuro-affirming language and how to help individuals that might be overwhelmed or over stimulated, how to be more compassionate and embrace neurological differences while celebrating neurodivergent strengths. How can I use what I learn? You will be able to use your knowledge and understanding of neurodivergent conditions to support others or yourself. You can use the practical tips and strategies to help yourself or those you work or live with, whenever there are difficult situations. You will also be more able to perceive ND strengths and talents in those with them. You can apply these insights and strategies in your day-to-day life so can start to create a more compassionate and kind world.
