Who is this for? This compassionate two-part course is for anyone who would like to better understand suicidal thoughts and feelings, whether in themselves, someone they care about, or through their work supporting others. Together, we will create a safe and reflective learning environment that encourages understanding, compassion, and hope. What will I learn? Workshop 1: Making Sense of Suicidal Thoughts and Feelings We'll explore some of the reasons people can find themselves struggling with suicidal thoughts and feelings, and how life experiences, emotional pain, hopelessness, loneliness, and feeling overwhelmed can sometimes make it difficult to see a way forward. Together, we'll develop a deeper understanding of these experiences and explore the importance of connection, compassion, and being able to talk openly and safely about suicide. Workshop 2: Building Hope and Support This session focuses on hope, healing, and finding ways to support ourselves through difficult times. You'll create a personalised Hope and Support Box filled with reminders, resources, coping strategies, supportive contacts, and things that bring comfort, meaning, strength, and hope. Together, we'll explore what helps us stay connected to ourselves, others, and the things that make life worth living. How can I use what I will learn? You will leave with a greater understanding of suicidal thoughts and feelings, practical ideas for supporting wellbeing, increased confidence in talking about suicide compassionately, and knowledge of where to access further help and support. Most importantly, you'll take away reminders of hope, connection, and the understanding that support is available and things can change.
