Wednesday Wellbeing!

Our regular round-up of news and events

Half Term is almost here!

We have had a fantastic start to the Autumn term and cannot believe it is half term next week already! From celebrating World Mental Health Day, promoting our services at both Silva Homes and Bracknell Library, to meeting James Sunderland our local MP - it has certainly been a busy October. We have already completed 27 courses and are midway through seven others. There are still spaces available on many of our courses after half-term and up until the Christmas break. If you want to know more about any courses, or discuss what may be right for you, contact us. This half term, we have arranged another drop in afternoon. See the poster at the end of this edition, and around the college, for details. We hope you enjoy this news-packed Wednesday Wellbeing, and please let us know if there is anything you would like us to cover in future editions? All the best, Ali

Stepping Stones meets local MP!

Meeting our local MP From left: Cat (Student Supporter), Olga (Facilitator), James Sunderland MP, Bernadette (SSRC lead), Ali (SSRC Operations Manager), Sam & Nikita (SSRC Administrators)

On Friday 7th October 2022, we were visited by James Sunderland, our local MP. Welcomed by the SSRC team, James received an introduction to the college and an overview of the 200 workshops and courses we offer. James spent time with students and staff and discussed how the college had supported them on their road to recovery. He heard how life and mental health challenges had affected people from diverse backgrounds and in different ways. James spoke at length about local support and services for mental health and wellbeing and how he would help raise awareness throughout the constituency. Thank you for visiting us, we enjoyed meeting you!

SSRC & World Mental Health Day

Monday 10th October was World Mental Health Day. The team at SSRC wore "Be kind to your mind" T-shirts and offered Heroes sweets to all our "heroes" - you, our students!
